How we built this setup
Build around the devices that will actually be used while driving. A phone mount keeps navigation at a glanceable height, while a multi-port USB-C car charger lets the driver and passengers share the vehicle's power connection. Choose a MagSafe mount only when the phone and case support it; otherwise a vent mount may be the more flexible choice.
Audio depends on the car's existing system. A Bluetooth FM transmitter can suit a vehicle with a radio but no Bluetooth, while an aux Bluetooth adapter makes sense when the stereo has an aux input. A 20,000 mAh power bank and short and long USB-C cables keep devices usable when the engine is off or a passenger is away from the front outlet.
The dash cam and tablet mount are optional because they solve trip-specific needs. Before buying, verify phone case fit, outlet placement, audio input type, cable lengths, and any local recording or driving rules.
Road-trip checks:
β’ Match the mount to your phone case, dashboard or vent, and line of sight.
β’ Count the devices that must charge at the same time before choosing the car charger.
β’ Test the audio connection and cable lengths before departure.
β’ Store the power bank where it stays cool and accessible, not loose under luggage.
